Can the Sound of the 17-year Cicadas Damage Your Hearing?

The answer is yes!  The mating calls made by some species of male cicadas can reach up to 120 decibels at close range. This can cause ear pain.  If you’re going to be outside for an extended amount of time in April (ish), you may want to have those earbuds handy for protection – just in case.
